Meet Regann Hunt-Royster: Muralist, Artist.
Regann is a professional mural artist specializing in custom murals, portrait commissions, decorative faux finishes, and original artwork for residential and commercial spaces, creating designs that bring beauty, creativity, and character to every environment.
As a native Houstonian, my love for art was nurtured by my late grandmother, who first sparked my curious spirit. Starting from a very young age, every visit with her was filled with attentive artistic adventures as she encouraged me to play and express myself and my feelings with varieties of paints and crayons. With her constant joy and belief in what art would bring out in me, I kept following this trail of exploration throughout my life.
Taking art classes in High School helped focus and train me to observe better. I became a realist artist loving the detail of nature. Art became a visual diary for me of life all around. I love seeing order, balance, texture, color, and movement. In my senior year I was selected as the top female artist out of 800 students in my graduating class. I also painted my first commission of a hunting dog, which propelled me into the portrait business. But even more meaningful than the recognition were the smiles and reactions my art brought to those who experience it.
I still hold on to many of those early pieces today, treasuring them as reminders of where it all began – and of the joy my art has always been meant to share.
I live now in East Tennessee with my husband Dave and our 2 dogs. I'm now creating art all around our area. We love animals, the outdoors, swimming, watching movies together, and building deep friendships with our church family and community.
Training & Artistic Foundation
Regann’s work is supported by formal artistic training with multiple instructors and master artists from all over the United States. Through her studies, she developed a strong foundation in drawing, composition, color theory, and painting techniques.
This training continues to guide her creative process today, allowing her to approach each project with both artistic intuition and technical skill. The result is work that is not only visually engaging but also thoughtfully designed and carefully executed.

Residential creative process
When I approach a blank wall, I begin by understanding the space as a whole. I take in the surroundings—the architecture, the flow of the room, the natural light—and consider how the artwork can complement and elevate what already exists. I think about the mood the space is calling for and how the finished piece will make people feel when they experience it.
Equally important is the client’s vision. Every project begins with a conversation where I listen closely—not just to what is said, but to the emotions and intentions behind it. My role is to translate those ideas into something visual and meaningful. In many cases, clients don’t have the exact words to describe what they’re looking for, so I guide the process with thoughtful questions and dialogue to help uncover and shape that vision.
The result is a piece that feels personal, intentional, and seamlessly connected to both the space and the people who live in it.
Commercial creative process
When I approach a commercial space, I begin by evaluating the environment from both a design and functional perspective. I consider the architecture, traffic flow, lighting, and how the space is experienced by clients, staff, and visitors throughout the day. My goal is to ensure the artwork enhances the environment while supporting the overall purpose of the space.
Equally important is understanding the client’s brand and vision. I take time to learn what the business represents, the message it wants to communicate, and the impression it aims to leave. Through collaborative conversations, I translate those ideas—along with the desired tone and audience experience—into a visual concept that aligns with the brand identity.
In many cases, clients know the feeling they want to create but may not have a clear visual direction. I guide that process by asking the right questions and presenting thoughtful concepts that bring clarity and focus.
The end result is artwork that not only elevates the space visually, but also strengthens brand presence, enhances the customer experience, and creates a lasting impression.
